Father Terence Weik, “Fr. Terry”, age 70, passed suddenly on March 10, 2024 at his residence at St. Jude Parish rectory in Chalfont, PA.  He was born in Bristol, PA where he attended St. Mark Parochial School. He graduated from Bishop Egan High School in Fairless Hills before entering St. Charles Borromeo Seminary. Father Weik was ordained in May 1980, at the Cathedral Basilica of SS. Peter and Paul, Philadelphia by His Eminence John Cardinal Krol.  He spent his first 8 years ministering at St. Robert Parish in Chester and St. Andrew Parish in Drexel Hill.

Father Weik entered the Society of Mary, Marianist Community in 1988, after discerning a call to religious life. He spent 25 years in a variety of ministries throughout the eastern United States. He returned to the service of the Philadelphia Archdiocese in 2013, serving at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel in Doylestown, Pastor at Visitation BVM in Norristown, at Maternity BVM in Bustleton, and his final assignment at St. Jude Parish in Chalfont.

Father Terry was a lifelong Philadelphia Eagles, Phillies and Notre Dame football fan. He enjoyed cooking and sharing meals with family and friends and he enjoyed traveling and spending time in Barnegat, NJ. He was very proud of his Irish heritage. He served as Chaplain for the Ancient Order of Hibernians, AOH Division 1 on Corson Street in Bristol, the street where he grew up.  Father Terry loved his beautiful Siamese cat, Pasha, who was his faithful companion in his later years.

The Reception of the Body prayer service will be held at St. Mark Church, Bristol from 5:30-6:00pm followed by a viewing from 6:00-9:00pm on Tuesday, March 19, 2024.  A morning viewing will be held in church from 9:00-10:30am, followed by the Funeral Mass at 11:00am on Wednesday, March 20, 2024.   Interment will be at Our Lady of Grace Cemetery in Langhorne.

Terry was a friend and mentor of mine... We met during his time with the Marianist at St. Mary's in Texas. Now two decades later I appreciate the relationship we shared. He was there as a friend and priest through many of my life's ups and downs, and always a text message away. Living on the East Coast allowed me to see him throughout the years. He always made it a priority to catch up when it had been a while and of course joked about my millennial ways of communicating, lol. Condolences to the Weik Family and thank you for sharing him with us. Prayers during this time of transition and change.

Thank you Fr. Terry for your friendship, your hospitality and your reaching out to me after many years of absence. When I was in Seminary with Fr. Terry, and being from the plains, he would always invite me to Thanksgiving meal with the Weiks. After 40 years you again connected me to our class where I visited you and classmates just this last Fall. Thank you for your humor, your ministry and your friendship. RIP + my friend Terry

To The Family Of Father Terry,

Words cannot describe how sorry I am for your loss. Please allow me to extend my deepest sympathies and my very utmost and genuine heartfelt condolences to you all. I can only imagine what you all are going through during these unusual and unprecedented times with this beautiful and blessed world that we live in.

Anytime before he would start his homilies, he would always say how everyone is welcome to our parish. This was very heartwarming and touching.

He is in a better place and does not have to suffer from anything anymore. My prayers and thoughts are with you all. Take care and God bless you.

Love Always,
Bill

Fr. Terry was a '"priest's priest." He was gentle, kind, loving and compassionate, devoted to the Church of Vatican II and the writings of Pope Francis. He was the brother neither of us ever had. Nothing was too much for him. Our daughter and son-in- law will care for Prince Pasha. May you rest in the arms of your loving Savior to whom your life was so devoted.

I was a parishioner at Our Lady of Mt Carmel when Fr Terry was there. At the time, myself and a friend ran the Teen Youth Group. It was then that I witnessed Fr Terry's wonderful perspective on church teachings as they related to the youth of today. He encouraged the youth to critically think and to be open-minded to what Jesus' true intent meant for them in today's world. He was a gift to them and me. Rest well Fr Terry, you will be missed.
