James M. "Jim" Gavin

November 1, 1950 - January 20, 2024

 
 

James M. "Jim" Gavin passed away on Saturday, January 20, 2024 at St. Mary Medical Center in Langhorne.  He was 73.  Born in Philadelphia, son of the late John and Kathleen (nee Ryan) Gavin, he was raised in the Goldenridge Section of Levittown, and was a longtime Bristol Borough resident.  Jim was a graduate of Bishop Egan High School, Class of 1968, and received his Bachelor's Degree from Rider University.  He was a United States Navy Veteran.  Jim was employed at food sales, most recently with Boar's Head Meats.  He was a model train enthusiast and loved reading, especially military history.  He never met a person that he couldn't hold a long conversation with.

He is survived by his siblings, Joanne Vattimo (Chuck), Robert Gavin (Gee), Kathy Enright (Tom), and Mike Gavin (Wende).  He is also survived by his beloved companion of 43 years, Trish Michalak, along with many nieces and nephews.  Jim was also predeceased by his brother, Jack Gavin, and his sister, Patricia Burns. 

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Jim's family on Saturday, January 27, 2024 from 2-3:30pm at the Wade Funeral Home, 1002 Radcliffe Street, Bristol Borough.  Words of Remembrance will follow beginning at 3:30pm.
