Linda Lee Mazenko

October 30, 1939 - December 8, 2023

Linda Lee Mazenko passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Friday, December 8, 2023, (The Feast Day of the Immaculate Conception), at the age of 84.  Born in Allegheny County, PA, daughter of the late Ralph (‘Sam’) C. and Mary Ellen Spencer, she was raised in Apollo, PA. Linda resided in Bristol, PA, graduated from Bristol High School (Class of 1957), and pursued further art education in Philadelphia. Linda married and established a home in the Pinewood Section of Levittown in 1959.

Wife of the late Charles F. Mazenko, Sr., she is survived by her loving children, Dawn Killian (Jeffrey), Denise McHugh (Mark), Charles "Pete" Mazenko, Jr. (Noreen), and Ralph Mazenko (Christine).  She will be sadly missed by her grandchildren, Jeffrey J. Killian, Jr. (Lindsay Jane), Lindsay Jean Killian (Alyssa), Kelsey Flynn (Ryan), Sarah Vellios (Jonathan), Michael Mazenko, and Sophia (‘Star’) Mazenko; her great-grandchildren, Nathan, Laila, and Jude Killian, Conor and Colin Flynn, Stella and Jonah Vellios, along with many nieces and nephews. Linda was also predeceased by her step-mother, Frances Monte.

Linda (affectionately known as ‘Toots’) was above all else generous, selfless, and tirelessly devoted to her Family and Friends.  Linda was the glue that held the family together; she always put the needs of others above her own and demonstrated that she cared through her many acts of love.

Linda spent 51 years married to her adoring husband Chuck (known as “Pop”).  Together, ‘Toots and Pop’ were always there for their family. Linda was famous for her banquet style meals and continuously doting on her guests; in fact, we don’t think she ever ate a warm meal as she asked, ‘Can I get you anything, are you sure?’.  Christmas each year the air was filled with the sweet aroma of her PA Dutch specialties like her freshly baked nut-roll, banana nut bread, and raisin filled cookies.

Linda was a highly creative and spirited woman (naturally, born on Mischief Night!) and endlessly generous: she loved to present her creations to family and friends, always beautifully wrapped, learned at her first job at Pomeroy’s.  She created outfits/costumes, painted ceramics, and hand-crocheted blankets, hats, and the most cherished of all, ‘woofies’.

Linda loved to reminisce while driving through Bristol, where she met her husband Chuck, when he was in the Navy. One of her fondest memories was swimming across the Delaware River. Summer days were spent at Pinewood Pool under the oak tree with dear friends. Many nights were spent playing pinochle with neighborhood friends. Linda was also very industrious, conducting school for neighborhood children during a school strike (field trips and homework assignments included). Linda loved to attend Mass, watch Jeopardy, and sit at the kitchen table with a coffee and a good book. In her later years, she looked forward to coffee and luncheons with her friends, and her weekly Saturday evening out at the diner, where she would order her favorite drink, a ‘Margarita’.

Her family will proudly carry her tenacious spirit of devotion and unconditional acts of kindness and love. Linda Lee Mazenko will be dearly missed by the many people she touched during her life.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Funeral Service on Friday, December 15, 2023, 11am at the Wade Funeral Home, 1002 Radcliffe St, Bristol Borough.  Relatives and friends may call Friday morning, 9-11am.  Linda will be interred with her husband at Washington Crossing National Cemetery at a later date.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Autism Cares Foundation.

I cried reading Linda's obituary. She came to Bristol when we were in Sr.Hi. This dreamy, gentle soul with a stunning smile captivated us guys. As lovely as she was, and as fearless as she was in field hockey competition, the girls in our class were not intimidated by her looks & talent. Her spirit was too kind and endearing, & she won everyone's hearts. At our 60th Reunion gathering, Linda walked up to us, smiled at me, hugged my wife, & said, "Hi, I'm Linda". To this day my wife comments about the beauty of Linda's spirit.
In the Bible, Job said, "I know that my Redeemed lives, and at the last day, He will stand upon the earth, Though worms destroy this body, yet, in my flesh will I see God". Linda's faith carried her into the Lord's Presence. He'll give her a great reward for the life she lived & the love she showed to any who met her.".
See you, Linda. See you for sure!! ❤️😇

I remember giving a patently horrendous speech as the best man at Brian's wedding reception. It was so bad that everyone gave me a wide birth after it was over, being sure to avoid eye contact...everyone except Aunt Linda. She sauntered over and assured me the speech was wonderful, one the uncles would remember. Seems like a small thing looking back, but in the moment, she could tell my poor performance was bothering me, so she took a moment to comfort me. Love you, Aunt Linda!

I'm Cousin Bill. Was her one and only Baby Sitter. At 9 yrs of age we became more than Cousins. She spent so much time at our home. She loved everyone's "Gramma Zoe". My Mom Zoe and Linda bondedand in later years Linda had over a year glued to Our Family. Love rolled out of Linda, every minute of every day. We drove our 1930 Fords into the river at a special area and swam Saturday and Sunday afternoon. I will have her by my side or in my arms till I see her soon. .

I met Mrs Mazenko when I was in 8th grade. She immediately welcomed me into her family as another daughter. I was one of her students during our school strike. I remember her taking us all to Washington Crossing for a school trip in her suburban. So much fun. I remember coming in many late nights to our surprise she would be up waiting at the kitchen table. She later became Toots. She watched me grow and my family grow. I did not get to see her as much when I got married and moved away. But she would send me kind notes and when we did get to see each other she was always so interested in what was going on with me and my family. She was always so kind and I felt so loved by her. I will miss her so much. Love you Toots
