George J. Doran, Jr.

March 26, 1955 - October 5, 2023

George J. Doran, Jr. ended his struggles here on earth on Thursday, October 5, 2023 at Lower Bucks Hospital.  He was 68.  Born in Bristol, Pa., he was a Bristol resident all his life.  George retired from 3M Co., where he was a Master Mechanic.  Some things that brought him joy in life are photography, hunting, fishing, snorkeling, collecting antiques, the stock market, current events, talk radio, sci-fi, and volunteering as a committee man for his community.  He liked playing cards and baseball with his friends. His greatest job was volunteering at his kids school, and for their sports.

George was a selfless man, always the first to offer a helping hand, whether it be fixing your car or something around your house. Until his wisdom and advice were all that he could lend.  Everyone that knew George knew that although what he said sounded crazy, HE WAS ALWAYS RIGHT. No memory of George is complete without his Big Gulp of Diet Coke.

He was the loving husband of Ida Conti Doran, a devoted father to, Amanda Cook (Jason), Kristy Reardon (Daniel) and George J. Doran III (Trisha) and the best Poppy to his grandchildren, David, Hayden, Dani, Avery, Quinn and Grayson.  George is also survived by his mother, Dolores Doran, his siblings, Bernadette Mena (Martin), Owen Doran (Cindy), Lori Cleary (Kevin), Patrick Doran (Jeannie) and Kathleen O'Toole (Mike), his sister-in-law, Kathy Doran along with many special nieces and nephews.  He was greeted at the gates of Heaven by his father, George J. Doran, Sr. and his brothers, Michael Doran, Joseph Doran and Daniel Doran.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Funeral Mass on Wednesday, October 11, 2023, 11:00am at St. Thomas Aquinas Church, Croydon, Pa.  Interment, private.  Friends may call Wednesday morning 9:30-11:00am at the Church.  Arrangements are under the direction of Wade Funeral Home, Bristol Borough.
