Thomas C. Corrigan, Sr
Thomas C. Corrigan, Sr, of Naples Fl, passed away Thursday, December 1, 2022. He was 84 years old. Born in Bristol on February 26, 1938, to the late John and Dorothy (Levers) Corrigan. Tom was a resident of Naples, Fl for the last 8 years and was formerly of Bristol Borough, PA.
He was a graduate of Bristol High School, Class of 1956. After graduation, Tom served in the Pennsylvania Air National Guard (1959-1960). Early in Toms career, he worked as a real estate agent and as a rigger for the U.S. Steel Corporation. Tom served his community as a member of the Democratic Committee (1964-1965); elected, council, Bristol (1966-1969, 1972-1986; president, 1972-1973); elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in 1986; reelected to serve 9 consecutive terms thereafter; appointed, Select Committee on Rules Review (1993); appointed, Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission (1997-2004) until his retirement in 2006.
Tom enjoyed summers at LBI and was a lifetime member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians Michael Dougherty Division 1.
He was preceded in death by his 1st wife Annabelle (McClafferty) Corrigan. Tom will be sadly missed by his beloved wife of 21 years, Velda Ilene Corrigan. He is also survived by his children: Mary Jo Harris (Michael), Thomas C., Jr (Deana) and Matthew M. Corrigan (Monica); His Step-Children: Mark Goncalves and Beth O’Halloran; His siblings: Virginia Paleafico (Michael) and Charles Corrigan; 6 grandchildren: Matthew (Fiancé Jill) and Brian Harris, Kyle (Lauren), Molly, Lily and Annie Corrigan; 3 Step-Grandchildren: Travis, Sean and Josh O’Halloran; and 4 Step-Great Grandchildren. Tom was preceded in death by his siblings, John Corrigan, Margaret Petty and James Corrigan.
Mass will be said for Tom at St. Mark Church on January 21 at 1PM. Donations can be made to St. Mark’s Church Bristol PA.
