Steve & I had a love to tease each other relationship. My last big one was teasing him about getting the date wrong to Morgan’s graduation party and showing up a month early sitting outside my house. That all being said, what my truest memories of Steve will be knowing that if I would have asked him to be there a year earlier to help get ready for the party, he would have been there with bells on! Will never forget you Steve (Opa)!

We have known Steve for years through extended family. It was always a pleasure to be in his company at family parties and get togethers. He was a wonderful man and the best Opa to his grandkids. He was loved and will be missed by so many but now he’s with his beautiful Gen once again. To the family hold on to all those great memories.

Dear family of Steve Hanes, we are very sorry for your loss. We keep you all in our hearts and pray for you in this hard time.
Unfortunately we live very far a can't know each other well. In this picture I posted is actually my dad in the far right. He visited the U.S. in the 90'. And then I visited in 2011. I remember having a really good time with all of you, and Steve as well.
Let our Lord Jesus be with you, bless you and help you.

We have never met in person, but I know from his father Emil, my mother's brother, how proud he was of his beautiful and clever children, how often he talked about them with love, how much he cared about his family. And that's what he and his wife Ellen taught their children as well. Every time he visited his birthplace, he talked about it.
In our prayers, we think of you, dear family, and we feel sadness in our hearts, but above all we feel hope that everyone is waiting for us with the Lord Jesus Christ. Your cousin Jana, from Piešťany.
