Reverend Terence Paul Weik
September 25, 1953 - March 10, 2024
Father Terence Weik, “Fr. Terry”, age 70, passed suddenly on March 10, 2024 at his residence at St. Jude Parish rectory in Chalfont, PA. He was born in Bristol, PA where he attended St. Mark Parochial School. He graduated from Bishop Egan High School in Fairless Hills before entering St. Charles Borromeo Seminary. Father Weik was ordained in May 1980, at the Cathedral Basilica of SS. Peter and Paul, Philadelphia by His Eminence John Cardinal Krol. He spent his first 8 years ministering at St. Robert Parish in Chester and St. Andrew Parish in Drexel Hill.
Father Weik entered the Society of Mary, Marianist Community in 1988, after discerning a call to religious life. He spent 25 years in a variety of ministries throughout the eastern United States. He returned to the service of the Philadelphia Archdiocese in 2013, serving at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel in Doylestown, Pastor at Visitation BVM in Norristown, at Maternity BVM in Bustleton, and his final assignment at St. Jude Parish in Chalfont.
Father Terry was a lifelong Philadelphia Eagles, Phillies and Notre Dame football fan. He enjoyed cooking and sharing meals with family and friends and he enjoyed traveling and spending time in Barnegat, NJ. He was very proud of his Irish heritage. He served as Chaplain for the Ancient Order of Hibernians, AOH Division 1 on Corson Street in Bristol, the street where he grew up. Father Terry loved his beautiful Siamese cat, Pasha, who was his faithful companion in his later years.
The Reception of the Body prayer service will be held at St. Mark Church, Bristol from 5:30-6:00pm followed by a viewing from 6:00-9:00pm on Tuesday, March 19, 2024. A morning viewing will be held in church from 9:00-10:30am, followed by the Funeral Mass at 11:00am on Wednesday, March 20, 2024. Interment will be at Our Lady of Grace Cemetery in Langhorne.
Father Weik was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Weik, Sr. and Rita (McHugh) Weik, his brother, Charles (Buddy) Weik, Jr., his nephew, Charles (Chuck) Weik, and his great nephew, Christopher (CJ) Weik. Father Weik is survived by his 3 sisters: Barbara (Jim) Moore, Susan (Dan) Bartle and Marianne (Tom) Horton and his nieces and nephews: Melissa, Dan, Sarah, Kaitlin, Jim, Kara, Kyle, Tom, McKayla, and Tae.
