Pete J. Fesovich
Pete J. Fesovich "The Button Man" passed away on Friday, June 18, 2021 at his home with his family by his side. He was 93. He was born on June 12, 1928 in Conemaugh, Pa, the son of John and Anna (Appley) Fesovich. Pete graduated from Conemaugh High School in 1946, and then enlisted in the United States Army. After basic training at Fort Knox, Ky, he was assigned to the Pacific Theatre during WWII. He was promoted to Sergeant and assigned to the General Headquarters in occupied Tokyo, Japan to guard General Douglas MacArthur. After the war he returned home and traveled with a band, playing the string bass. Pete then met Joanne (Reese) Faight and her son, Robert A. Faight and moved to Bristol for a better life. He and his beloved wife, Joanne were married for 63 years until her passing on June 27, 2018. Joanne became a Licensed Practical Nurse and Pete worked at United States Steel. After retiring from U.S. Steel, he took up the hobby of making campaign buttons for local politicians, councilmen, mayors, state representatives and congressmen as well as advertising companies.
Pete is survived by his son, Robert A. Faight and his wife, Maria (Castor) of Bristol, his grandchildren, Peter A. Faight and his wife, Kristin (Frake) of Bristol, Christine M. (Faight) DeLuca of Horsham, and Cynthia J. Faight of Bristol and his great-grandchildren, Mackenzie, Jacob, Sophia, Taliah and Mason along with many nieces and nephews. He loved politics, sports, and telling stories in tall tales to his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was predecesed by his parents, John and Anna, his wife, Joanne and his siblings, Helen Fesovich Walischek and her husband, Ted, Julia Fesovich Antaminak and her husband, William, Irene Fesovich Balya and her husband, Robert, Michael Fesovich and his wife, Bertha and Nick Fesovich.
Relatives and friends are invited to call on Thursday, July 15, 2021, from 11:30am-1:00pm, with a Funeral Service to follow at 1:00pm at the Wade Funeral Home, Bristol Borough. Interment will be held privately at Washington Crossing National Cemetery.
