Pauline Marie (Ridge) Sohenuick

Pauline Marie (Ridge) Sohenuick passed gently from this Earth on Monday, June 13, 2022 at home surrounded by her loving family and friends. She fought a courageous battle to recover from a massive stroke, and will forever be remembered by so many as an amazing and loving mother, sister, grandmom and aunt, a fiercely devoted friend and caring coworker.

Blessed with a benevolent heart, Pauline was truly an angel on Earth to so, so many. She possessed an abundance of kindness, compassion and love for her fellow man. This deep loving concern served her well throughout her long career in healthcare. Beginning at DiLorenzo’s Pharmacy in Bristol and Reed Pharmacy in Levittown, Pauline later served as a devoted member of the Lower Bucks Hospital team for over twenty-five years, always focused on helping those around her (both patients and coworkers) to feel better - physically, emotionally and spiritually. Her passion for caring for people extended far beyond her work, as Pauline was known for her innate abilities to make the people in her life feel special, always custom-tailoring each and every celebration, paying attention to the fine details and ensuring that those around her knew that they were loved and appreciated. Among her many gifts, she was an amazing baker whose chocolate chip cookies and brownies were the stuff of legends. A talented crafter and artist, she warmed the hearts of friends and family with her handmade cards, beautiful scrapbooks and exquisite decorations. These were just a few of the many ways in which Pauline carried out her limitless legacy of loving care. In addition to her baking and crafting, Pauline loved her casino trips, exploring (shopping) the quaint towns of Bucks & Montgomery Counties, as well as spending time with her loved ones in her favorite places, including Pensacola Beach, FL and New Orleans, LA.

Preceded in death by her parents, Martin Luther Ridge I and Pauline Marie (Patterson) Ridge and her younger sister - Marlene Ridge, Pauline is survived by her two children and son-in-law - Jennifer and James (Brian McCrane), her sister - Eileen Miller, her brothers - Martin (Jean), Patrick (Cecilia) and Robert (Jacqueline), her aunt - Margot (Ridge) Barnett, her brother-in-law - Robert Sohenuick (Barbara), her nieces - Victoria Shaw (Kristopher), Deneale Miller, Veronica Ridge (Brian), her nephews - Patrick Ridge (Ashley), Thomas Ridge (Jana), Luke Ridge (Katelyn), her grandpuppies Jackson Beauregard and Shelby Grace Sohenuick, along with many cousins, great nieces and nephews. Pauline is also survived by her many dear friends, especially Gail Vitale (Carmen), Alyssa O’Brien (Sean) and her caregiver, Valentina, all who remained by her side every step of the way throughout her battle.

In lieu of flowers, we would like to ask the following to celebrate Pauline’s legacy of love and giving: In honor of her abundant kindness and to make her smile, please make an effort to practice random acts of kindness towards your fellow man. In honor of her charity and concern for the natural world, please consider a donation to a nature- or animal-focused cause of your choice. If you do wish to send flowers, purple irises were her absolute favorite.

A celebration of Pauline’s life will be held on Saturday, July 9th. Friends and family are invited to call from 9am to 10:45am at the Wade Funeral Home, 1002 Radcliffe Street, Bristol Borough, PA. Following visitation, a Memorial Mass will be celebrated at Saint Mark Church at 11am. Please consider wearing purple or green in Pauline’s memory.
