Nancy M. Nelson

Nancy M. Nelson passed away on Thursday, January 12, 2023. She was 72. Daughter of the late William and Anne Ferguson, she was raised in Bristol Borough. She was a resident of Hulmeville, PA since 1972.

Nancy graduated from Villa Joseph Marie High School in 1968. She earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education from Millersville University in 1972. She continued her education throughout her career, obtaining a Master’s Degree in Elementary Education from The College of New Jersey in 1999.

Nancy pioneered the teaching of English as a second language. She was a caring teacher who touched the lives of countless students, colleagues and friends. She retired from Bensalem School District in 2014.

Nancy was the devoted wife of the late James T. Nelson. Jim and Nancy traveled extensively on a touring motorcycle and took their family on many wonderful trips over the years.

Nancy loved her family and friends boundlessly. She is survived by her children, James T. Nelson, Jr. and his wife, Jodi, Melissa M. Ward and her husband, Jason, and her treasured grandson, Nicholas J. Ward. She is also survived by her sister, Peggy Ferguson Hughes (Michael) and her in-laws, Carl W. Nelson, III (Anne), Elaine Nelson (the late John Nelson), Judith Nelson Lake (James), Wayne Nelson (Jane), and Mary Nelson Kuznicki (Raymond), along with many nieces and nephews.
