Michael Gadsby

Michael Joseph Gadsby passed away on Wednesday, May 25, 2022 in his hometown of Hopewell Township, NJ. He was 69 years old.

Michael lived his life with joy and laughter. He was a beloved husband, father, son, brother, grandfather, uncle, and friend. Forever the naturalist, he was most content outside in nature.

Michael was born in Philadelphia, PA on February 17th, 1952 to Raymond and Mary Gadsby. He was raised in Levittown, PA alongside his 2 brothers and 6 sisters. He had a happy childhood growing up in the 1950’s as Levittown was fondly known for. Michael attended Bishop-Egan Catholic High School where he played varsity football and graduated in 1972.

Michael resided in Pennington, NJ with his beloved wife, Pamela, and their two dogs, Charlie and Cody. He has three daughters, Jennifer, Renée and Grace Ann who he loved dearly, and five beautiful grandchildren, who spent many summers days swimming in his backyard pool.

After working in different industries, Michael found his calling when he became an electrician and joined the IBEW Local 269. He was a talented and skilled electrician who was physically strong and mentally sharp. His mechanical expertise grew over the years as he gradually and beautifully remodeled his home. Michael was incredibly generous with his time and skills as he spent many hours of his life helping family and friends with their home projects.

Michael recently retired in 2019 and for the past 2 and a half years he enjoyed driving his sporty car and playing many rounds of golf with his brother, two sons-in-law, and dear friends. He also enjoyed peaceful times with his wife Pam in their beautiful home with their cherished dogs.

Michael loved life with all its beauty and complexity. He was a sentimental man who cared deeply about others. He was a devoted son, and his life was enriched by his 8 brothers and sisters, who he remained close with his entire life. Michael appreciated the simple things. He loved the countryside, good food, Philadelphia sports teams (especially the Eagles), road trips with Pam and their dogs, family barbecues, walks in the woods alone or with loved ones, trips to Boston with his siblings, and skiing with his daughters and grandchildren. Recently, he and Pam traveled to Italy two years in a row. Their time together in Italy was adventurous, beautiful, and holds a special place in Michael’s heart.

Michael will be lovingly remembered by his family and friends. He would want us to hold dear all the beautiful times and memories together and find comfort in the gifts that he gave to everyone he loved so dearly.

Michael is survived by his beloved wife, Pamela Gadsby, daughters, Jennifer Rowe (Marc), Renée Gadsby (Tim Marks), and Grace Ann Gadsby; grandchildren, Amelia and Benjamin Rowe, Lucas Lounsbury, and Owen and Nora Marks; siblings, Tish Gadsby, Cathy Bodine (John), Monica Gadsby, Lorrie Gadsby, Billy Gadsby (Kelly), Terry Gadsby, and Bobbie Gadsby (Michael Muckin); mother-in-law, Marie Litvinas, and his in-laws, Christopher Litvinas (Cathy), Judith Brogan (Kevin), Cynthia Szczypiorski (Edward), Patricia McGarvey (Matthew), and Sally Ann Litvinas. He will also be missed by many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mary and Raymond Gadsby and his brother, Ray Gadsby.

The family will receive Relatives and Friends on Saturday, June 11, 2022 from 9:00am until his Memorial Service at 11:00am at the Wade Funeral Home, 1002 Radcliffe Street, Bristol Borough. Interment, private.
