Maurice J. Harkins

Maurice J. "Maury" Harkins passed away on Wednesday, April 27, 2022 at his home in Palm Springs, CA, he was 91 years old. Born in Bristol, Pa on November 6, 1930, son of the late Daniel and Marie (nee Lake) Harkins, he was raised in Bristol Borough and has been a resident of California for the past 55 years. Maury attended St. Mark School and was a graduate of Bristol High School, Class of 1948. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force and a graduate of the University of Miami. He worked for Transamerica Insurance for many years in San Francisco, CA, prior to his retirement in the 90's.

Predeceased by his partner, Dr. Wallace Bilyeu and his brothers and sisters, Peter J. Harkins, Elizabeth M. Genco, Mary E. Shores, Margaret Barner, Daniel J. Harkin and his nephews, Danny and Kevin Harkins. He is survived by his 7 nieces and nephew, Marie M. Crossan, Jerome J. Barner, Elizabeth R. Genco, Marilou Scenna, Deborah Stallone, Barbara Kotkiewicz and Maureen Harkins. Also survived by his brother-in-law, Jerry Barner and many great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins. Maury will be dearly missed by his many friends he had in Palm Springs and San Francisco especially Kenneth Fontenot, Harry Walker, Bill Verdell and Donald C. Beilke. Maury loved his family, friends, warm weather, his rose garden, a glass of wine and his Friday night dinners, with his Palm Springs friends, but most of all he loved God and the Church.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Funeral Mass on Tuesday, May 24, 2022, 11:00am at St. Mark Church, 1025 Radcliffe Street, Bristol Borough. Interment, St. Mark Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Wade Funeral Home, Bristol Borough.
