Joseph O'Brien

Joseph O'Brien passed away on Wednesday, November 16, 2022 at St. Mary Medical Center. He was 89. He joins the love of his life, Lorraine (Grotz) O'Brien, whom he married on Valentine's Day, 1953. Born in Philadelphia, son of the late Richard and Catherine May Roper O'Brien, he has been a Bristol Township resident for the past 70 years. Mr. O'Brien proudly served 9 years in the Pennsylvania National Guard Combat and Support Company 2nd BG, 111th Infantry. He was a dedicated employee for 43 years at Kresge / K Mart Corporation, retiring in 1998. Mr. O'Brien enjoyed trips to the casino with his wife, horse racing at Parx, going to the shore with his family and was an avid Eagles and Phillies fan. He was well known in Bristol Borough where he did his daily 5-mile walk.

Predeceased by his wife, Lorraine O'Brien, 2 sons, Joseph, Jr. and Ernest and his daughter-in-law, Sandy, he is survived by his children, Richard (Patty), Lorraine Landis (Scott) and Nancy Rosenberg (Steve). He is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren, 2 sisters, Gloria McNulty and Ruth Bedwell along with several nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Funeral Service on Monday, November 21, 2022, 11:00am at the Wade Funeral Home, 1002 Radcliffe Street, Bristol Borough. Interment, Bristol Cemetery. Friends may call 9:30am until time of Service.
