Joan G. Ritter

Joan G. Ritter passed away suddenly at the age of 87 on Sunday, May 23, 2021 at Lower Bucks Hospital. She was a lifelong resident of Bristol, PA and the daughter of the late Louis and Mildred Nelson Girard. Joan was a graduate of St. Mark’s School and Nazareth Academy. After high school, Joan was employed as a secretary for the FBI in Philadelphia and finished her career at Rohm and Haas / Dow Chemical. She was an avid walker, Phillies fan, and bowler. Joan loved to dance and go to the Jersey shore, but especially cherished the time spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Predeceased by her husband, David Ritter, she is survived by her son, Eric Ritter (Christi), 2 daughters, Karen Watts (Donald), and Patty DiTomassi (Nick), her grandchildren, Matthew Watts, Laura Watts (Rich Rodriguez), Evan Watts, Thomas Watts (Corinne), Jacob Ritter (Brittany), Zachary Ritter, Monica DiTomassi and James DiTomassi and her great-grandchildren, Bryce Watts, Noah Watts and McKenna Watts. Joan is also survived by 3 brothers, Louis Girard, Michael Girard (Donna) and David Girard (Nancy) and 1 sister, Nancy Gangloff (Ed) along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Funeral Mass on Tuesday, June 1, 2021, 11:00am at St. Mark’s Church, Bristol Borough. Friends may attend a wake with family from 9:30-11:00am at the Church. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Joan’s name to the Women’s Animal Center in Bensalem, PA. Arrangements are under the direction of Wade Funeral Home, Bristol Borough.
