Jennie Sebastian

Jennie Sabastian passed away peacefully at Legacy Gardens of Bristol on Saturday, March 29, 2025, with her loving family by her side. She was 99 years young and the last of her generation. Born in Girardville, PA, on September 3, 1925, to the late William and Margaret Diamond, she witnessed many incredible changes in her lifetime, which she loved to share.

She was married in 1948 and moved to Shenandoah, PA, where she worked as a waitress and a seamstress before moving to Macungie, PA, with her husband, where she was privileged to be a homemaker. During her time in Macungie, she made some great friends who became family. Jennie took pride in her home and enjoyed entertaining, playing cards with her family and friends, listening to polkas, working on jigsaw puzzles, cooking, baking cookies, shopping, taking bus trips to the casinos, and watching the Phillies play. She looked forward to her morning coffee with her newspaper, crossword puzzle, and cryptogram in hand, which kept her mind sharp.

She was a member of the St. Thomas More Church in Allentown, PA. Jennie lived independently in her beautiful home until the age of 97, when she moved to Bristol, PA.

Jennie is now reunited with her husband, Joseph Sebastian Jr., with whom she celebrated 60 years of marriage before his death in 2008.

She was also predeceased by her brothers Edmund, Joseph, and Vincent Diamond, and a sister Helen Hendricks. She will be missed by her nieces and nephews, Tom Diamond and his wife Juanita, Shirley Irwin and her husband John, Roseann Lameiras, Lynn Arnieri and her husband Albert, Karen Haddigan, and many more. Her great-nieces, great-nephews, and her special Macungie family, Anna Breshock, Martie Ann, Christopher, Cameron, and McKenzie Haller.

The family sends a heartfelt thank you to her friends and staff at Legacy Gardens of Bristol, where she resided.

Family and friends are invited to call on Thursday, April 3, 2025, from 9:00-10:15 am at the Wade Funeral Home, 1002 Radcliffe Street, Bristol, PA, and attend her Funeral Mass at 10:30 am at St. Mark Church, 1025 Radcliffe Street, Bristol, PA. Interment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery, 547 N. Krocks Road, Allentown, PA.
