Jean K. Lowden

Jean K. Lowden, 96 of Bristol Township, Pa passed away from a short illness on Wednesday, June 2, 2021. She was the daughter of the late Joseph and Helen Kennard. Jean was a graduate of Collingdale High School. She started working at the age of 14 to help her parents during the Great Depression. She had a deep work ethic and always gave her best to her employers. During her career, she worked as a secretary at the Veterans Hospital in Philadelphia and then at the Forest Service in Upper Darby, Pa. Jean loved to do crossword puzzles, cryptograms, going to the movies, church and watching old movies on tv. She also enjoyed living with her daughter for the past 15 years. She especially loved playing board games with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Predeceased by her husband, Kenneth C. Lowden; her brothers Bobby, Ken and Edward, sisters Margaret, Helene and daughter Doris, son-in-law’s John Vrolyk and John J. Nelson. She is survived by her daughter Elaine Nelson, grandchildren: Jill Darnell (Jay), Brian Nelson (Michele), Scott Nelson (Sophia), John Vrolyk, David Vrolyk (Lauren); great-grandchildren: Nicholas Mariglian, Casey Darnell, Tyler Darnell, Zoe Nelson, Leo Nelson. Great-great-grandchildren:  Charleigh, Elodie Vrolyk, Dora Vrolyk, numerous nieces and nephews, friends and her beloved cat named Taco. She is also survived by her sisters Elizabeth Roggio and Ann Cartlidge.

A life celebration to be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to any animal charity or to the Lower Bucks Church of Christ, 3810 Levittown Pkwy., Levittown, PA 19054.
