Jacob “Jake” Ehrgott, Jr.

Jacob "Jake" Ehrgott, Jr. passed away at home on Tuesday, June 14, 2022, surrounded by his loving family. He was 87. Born in Philadelphia, Pa., son of the late Jacob, Sr. and Elsie Ehrgott, he was a Bristol Township resident for over 42 years before spending his retirement in Winterhaven, Florida for 12 years. Jake was a proud United States Navy Veteran serving during the Korean War on the USS Donner. He was employed as a plumber/welder for Union Local 690. He was a skilled artist in many mediums and owned and operated Clare's Ceramic Shop in Bristol named after his wife. A saxophone player, Jake was the captain and musical director of the Greater Bucks County String Band and was a member of the Avalon and Broomall clubs. In his later years, Jake was diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease and was a frequent participant in on-line PD groups where he gained comfort and encouragement from people all over the world. He was full of zeal and zest for life and was famous for his storytelling; he loved to laugh and always wore his signature bright smile.

Predeceased by his son, Robert Ehrgott, he is survived by the love of his life, his wife of 61 years, Clare McVey Ehrgott and his children, Lynn O'Donnell (Stephen), Jacob Ehrgott, III (Yolie), Joseph Ehrgott (Brenda), Christopher Ehrgott, Ame Lewis (Ray), Joan Cunningham (Al), Clare Thatcher (Jim), Mary Ehrgott and RJ Jankowski. Also survived by 17 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Funeral Mass on Thursday, June 23, 2022, 11:00am at St. Ann Church, Bristol Borough. Interment, private. Friends may call Wednesday evening 7-9:00pm and Thursday morning 9:30-10:30am at the Wade Funeral Home, 1002 Radcliffe Street, Bristol Borough.
