Gerald Patrick Ennis

July 27, 1941 - April 20, 2023

Gerald Patrick Ennis, 81, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 20, 2023, with his children by his side. Born on July 27, 1941, he was a Bristol Borough resident for the majority of his life. Gerry had a successful career as an electrician with General Motors and was a member of the United Auto Workers Union. He was a lifetime member of the Bristol Consolidated Fire Department Station 50.

Gerald was preceded in death by his mother, Loretta Bradley Ennis and his father, Joseph Ennis. He is survived by his children Maribeth Ennis, Patrick Ennis (Christine), and Erin Ennis Renard (Jason). He will also be greatly missed by his grandchildren Stephen Rodas, Nina Rodas, Megan Werner, Matthew Ennis, Ryan Ennis, Madelyn Renard, and many other family and friends.

A very proud Irishman, he was a lifetime member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians Division 39 Tacony, PA and served as the Pennsylvania State Secretary for 14 years. He enjoyed Irish culture and participated in many Irish events, taking great pleasure in including his family in these festivities. A highlight of his life was his trip to Ireland with his daughter, Maribeth.

Gerry will be remembered for his love of long road trips, his uncanny sense of direction, and his wealth of trivia knowledge. A loyal fan of Philly sports teams, he spent many hours cheering on the Phillies and the Eagles. He was a history buff and had a vast knowledge of WWII, and he loved sharing this knowledge with his family.  He also enjoyed researching his family genealogy and spent countless hours researching archives to complete his ancestry.
