Gerald M. Roche
August 27, 1943 - February 23, 2025
Gerald M. Roche, 81, of Levittown, passed away peacefully on February 23, 2025. Gerry was born in Brooklyn, NY prior to his parents moving the family to Levittown, PA in its infancy. He was a founding parishioner of Queen of the Universe church in Levittown, where he and his brother, John, were among the original altar boys there. He was a four-year starter at Center for the Bishop Egan High School football team, where he graduated from in 1962. He went on to serve his country with pride as a member of the 101st Airborne Division Screaming Eagles during the Vietnam War. After his service, he dedicated more than 40 years as a crane operator at U.S. Steel in Fairless Hills.
A passionate Philadelphia Eagles fan, he also loved attending high school football games and Pearl Jam concerts with his son, Sean. He was also a longtime member of the Penn Warner Club, where he spent over 50 years enjoying the outdoors and the company of good friends.
He is survived by his son, Sean; brother, Dr. John Roche (Maryanne); and sister, Nancy Titus (Robert) and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Joan (Shaw), and his parents, John and Dorothy Roche.
He will be remembered for his humor, artistic talent, love for his family, and his kind, gentle soul.
Friends and family are invited to join in a celebration of Gerry’s life on Friday, March 7, 2025, with a visitation from 9:30-10:30am and Funeral Mass immediately after at Queen of the Universe Church, Levittown. Interment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery in Bensalem.
