Evelyn McHugh
Evelyn (Harrar) McHugh, age 94, of Bristol, PA died Tuesday, December 27, 2022 at VITAS Hospice at Nazareth Hospital, Philadelphia PA. Born in Philadelphia, she was a resident of Bristol for over 70 years. She was married to the love of her life, Bill, for over 60 years. She was the true matriarch of the family which she loved with all of her heart. She loved spending time with her family and friends and to visit them when she was able.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Ethel Harrar, her sisters, Ethel Dransfield, Dorothy Fabian, Ruth MacLean, Marion Cliver, and brother, Edward Harrar.
Wife of the late William J. McHugh Jr., she was preceded in death by her son, William (Billy) McHugh III, daughter, Patricia McHugh Balestrieri, daughter-in- law, Eva (Patty) McHugh, and grandson, Joseph Balestrieri Jr.
She is survived by her loving children, Tim, Lois, and Seretha, eight grandchildren, Jeffrey (Tara), Michael (Beth), Christopher (Alison), Aaron (Lisa), Jason, Eric, Lindsay (Mike), and Kelly, nine great grandchildren, Ashley (Desjohn), Jeffrey (Dakota), Talia, Jaxon, Liam, Leah, Gabriella, Colbie and Connor, one great-great granddaughter, Nova, and her very special grand-dog, Ozzie.
She is also survived by her loving in-laws, Regina McHugh, Kay & John Hastings, and James & Verdine McHugh.
The McHugh family would like to thank VITAS Hospice for their caring and compassion during this difficult time. We would also like to thank all of the wonderful, caring, and compassionate neighbors on Corson Street.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Funeral Service on Saturday, December 31, 2022, 12Noon at the Wade Funeral Home, 1002 Radcliffe Street, Bristol Borough. Interment, St. Mark Cemetery. Friends may call 10:00am until time of Service. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to The William McHugh Memorial Scholarship Fund. Donations can be made payable and sent to Bristol High School, C/O Beth Gallagher, 1801 Wilson Avenue, Bristol, PA 19007.
