October 3, 1948 - August 11, 2024

Bienvenido Rivera (Benny) passed away on Sunday, August 11, 2024 at St. Mary Medical Center surrounded by his loving family.  He was 75.  Born in Puerto Rico, son of the late Lucia and Bernardo Rivera, he was a Bristol resident for the past 59 years.  Mr. Rivera enjoyed gardening, puzzle books, and going for walks around town.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Jane (nee Spicer) Rivera, his children, Bienvenido Rivera (Denise), Richard Sheaffer (Angelique), Lisa Marie Rivera (Hector), and Christina Marie Rivera (Ken), eight grandchildren, Bienvenido, Sabrina, Richard, Kyle, Alyssa, Damani, Cason, and Layla, four great-grandchildren, and his faithful dog, Memo.  He is also survived by two sisters, Maria Rivera and Migna Rivera, three brothers, Hipolito Rivera, Miguel Angel Rivera, and Marcial Rivera, along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins.  He was also predeceased by three brothers, Crucito Rivera, Luis Felipe Rivera, and Fernando Rivera, and two sisters, Luz Nereida Figueroa and Carmen Delia Medina.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Funeral Service on Friday, August 16, 2024. His viewing will be held Friday morning from 9:00am until time of Service at 11:00am at the Wade Funeral Home, 1002 Radcliffe Street, Bristol Borough.  Interment, Bristol Cemetery.
