Alan Mitchell Teitelman
Alan Mitchell Teitelman, 54, passed away suddenly on Sunday, February 23, 2020 at his home in Mount Laurel, NJ where he resided with his wife Kimberly Teitelman (Gunson). Alan leaves behind the loves of his life, Kimberly and daughter Kaitlynn Gunson, Parents, Philip and Joyce, Father and Mother-in-law, Frank and Marsha Gunson, Sisters, Charlene Walker (Mike Tuno) and Sara Riegel (Ryan), Brother and Sister-in-law, Frank Gunson (Laura) and Christine Pollock (Gunson), nieces and nephews, Monica, Haley, and Justin Walker, Dane Riegel, Samantha, Austin and Isabelle Gunson, and Cameron and Devon Pollock, along with a plethora of long time friends including Ken Krupinski, Kevin Krautwald and Ezra Kuskin. Alan was the beloved grandson of the late Jerry and Stella Frank.
Alan was born in Philadelphia, PA and grew up in Barrington, NJ. Alan graduated from Haddon Heights High School in 1984. Before joining the family business at Barrington Security Systems, Alan pursued an education at ElizabethTown College. Alan then quickly showed his talents in the business and rose to the position as Vice President of Barrington Security Systems, from which he later retired.
Alan had an incredible passion for the water. He had spent countless hours and days on the boat fishing with his dad. If he couldn't get out on the boat, he would find a lake where he could cast a rod. Alan paid meticulous attention to his wardrobe and made sure he was always dressed for the occasion. Alan and Kim loved spending time together shopping and going on “Golden Treasure Hunts” in different stores trying to find the best deals. Alan and Kim shared the love of cooking together, taking long walks with their dogs, Jaxon and Finnegan, and always had a laugh with their bird, Charlie.
Alan always considered everyone's feelings and never hesitated to put their feelings before his own. His love for others was charismatic and his selflessness was evident in everything he did. He fostered a special relationship with Chris Diprimio, Nicholas Strough and Joseph Cunningham Jr. who looked up to Alan as a father figure. This attitude was also demonstrated by his service to charities and first responders. Alan always found a silver lining in every situation and supported everyone in their life and goals that were reached. He cared for everyone individually and never gave up hope. He chose a path to happiness with every step he walked in this world.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, March 8th, 2020 from 11:00am to 2:00pm with a service beginning at 12 noon at the Delran Fire Company #2. 1020 S Chester Avenue, Delran NJ 08075. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in memory of Alan Teitelman and Henry Chang Jr. to the Neuroblastoma Research Fund at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. Not a night went by without a soft kiss and his final words to his adoring wife each evening were, “HAVE I TOLD YOU HOW MUCH I LOVE YOU TODAY.”
