Robert J. Bellerby

Robert J. Bellerby of Edgely passed away at home on Thursday, April 28, 2016 with his wife by his side. He was 71. Born in Philadelphia, son of the late Harry and Helen (Fergus) Bellerby, he was a longtime Croydon resident before residing in Edgely.

He is survived by his best friend and wife of almost 18 years, Dawn Exley-Bellerby, his 2 brothers; Harry Bellerby (Joan), Joseph Bellerby (Joan), and his 3 sisters; Mary Maurizi (Mario), Judy Ditzler (Jack) and Sally Karr (David). Additionally he is survived by his daughter; Echo Llewellyn and his grandchildren; Jaclyn and Tyler. He is also survived by 2 sisters-in-law, Helen Liss and Jennifer Desiato and brother-in-law, Dr. William Exley along with many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews all of whom he loved dearly.

Bob served in the United States Army in Thailand during the Vietnam War and was proud of his service. He was also a friend of Bill W for many years. His big presence and gentle and kind heart led him towards helping others. Many will remember him for being a gentle man and a gentleman. Bob will be remembered as an avid fan of our Philadelphia Eagles, 76ers and Flyers and of course our Phillies. Many will also remember him for his love of dogs. Dawn and Bob started to breed Cavalier King Charles Spaniels about 15 years ago. The kennel known as "Beauty n Beast" was a hobby that Bob loved and was very passionate about.

Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects on Thursday, May 5, 2016, from 9:30-12Noon at which time a Memorial Service will be held at the Wade Funeral Home, 1002 Radcliffe Street, Bristol Borough. Inurnment will follow with military honors at Washington Crossing National Cemetery, Newtown, Pa . Because of his love for his dogs, the family is asking in lieu of flowers, that donations be made to the Women's Humane Society, 3839 Richlieu Road, Bensalem, Pa 19020.
