Ramon “Bud” Rovella

Ramon “Bud” Rovella of Bristol Borough passed away peacefully in the company of his loving wife, Madeline (Petruccio), and family at St. Mary Medical Center, on September 1, 2015. Bud was 83. Bud and Madeline were teenage sweethearts and soul mates who were completely devoted to each other and their family. They were very fortunate to share their love for over 65 years. Bud is preceded in death by his father Frank Rovella, his maternal mother Sonya, his step-mother Esther, and his precious baby daughter, Mary Ann.

Bud is survived by his adoring daughter Ramona (Angelini)
and her husband Alfred; his loving grandchildren, Christina (Barbiero) and her husband Michael and Charlene (Angelini-Lukach) and her husband Stephen; great grandchildren Christian and Angelina. Bud is also survived by his extended family of in-laws: Mary Whyno (John), John Petruccio (Ellie), Robert Petruccio, Michael Petruccio (Sandy), Nicholas Petruccio (Barbara), Anthony Petruccio (Sandy), Thomas Petruccio (Helene), Ann Schlieben (Brooks) and many nieces and nephews. In addition, Bud leaves behind his sisters: Rose Lustica and Regina Vasey.

Bud worked for 33 years and retired as a safety guard from Minnesota Mining & Manufacturing company (3M) which was located in Bristol Township. Bud was also an avid Philadelphia sports fan with a real special interest in the Phillies. He rarely missed watching a game with Madeline. In fact, Bud had a true passion for baseball. He was the manager of the ‘Petruccio’ softball team which played in the Bristol Boro adult softball league in the 1970’s. This talented team coached by Bud and primarily composed of family members, won back-to- back championships in this very competitive league. Bud was an active member of the John Billington VFW in Levittown, Bristol Elks, Moose Lodge in Bristol, and St. Ann’s Athletic Club in Bristol.

The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to Dr. Carlin McLaughlin and his staff at Regional Hematology and Oncology Associates in Langhorne, Pa. Their efforts to go the extra mile to care for Bud during his lengthy illness will never be forgotten. A special thank you to the staff at St. Mary Medical Center for their kindness and consideration each time
Bud visited the hospital. And finally, a very special thank you to Barbara Koryat, Bud’s home care nurse.

Relatives and Friends are invited to attend Bud’s viewing on Tuesday evening, September 8th, from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm, and Wednesday morning 8:30-9:30am at Wade Funeral Home, 1002 Radcliffe Street, Bristol Borough followed by his Funeral Mass, 10:00am at St. Ann Church, 357 Dorrance Street, Bristol, PA.
