Ralph J. Leonard
Ralph J. Leonard passed away peacefully at his home Friday, Nov. 21, 2014. He was 76. Born in Garden City Park, Long Island, N.Y., son of the late Anthony and Rose (Cirone) Leonard, he was a longtime resident of Willingboro, and had lived in Bristol Borough for the past 20 years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. Ralph and his family were owners of Leonard and Son Construction, which was instrumental in building Levittown. He loved horses, and raised racing horses on his own farm. Ralph enjoyed playing Pinoccle on Tuesdays with his many friends for the past 25 years but most especially loved his grandchildren and telling stories about them.
Husband of the late Joanne (Thompson) Leonard, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Kelly Shaw; grandson, Scott Shaw; and brother-in-law, James Thompson, he is survived by his beloved children, Melissa Leonard of Bristol, and Mick Leonard and his wife, Amy of Florida. He will be sadly missed by his three grandchildren, Caylan Bentley and Bobbi and Danni Leonard; his brother, Tony Leonard (Dolores) of Jacksonville, N.J.; sister, Rae Summa (Carmen) of Florida; his brother-in-law, Joby Thompson (Diane) of Levittown; along with many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services and interment will be held privately. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate an act of kindness, in Ralph's name, be made to a fellow human being.
