Patrick J. Cunninghan

Patrick J. Cunningham, a resident of Levittown, PA, passed away on Sunday, January 11, 2015. He was 77.

Born on January 4, 1938 at St. Francis Hospital in Trenton, NJ to the late Dennis T. Cunningham and Catherine Cryan Cunningham, he graduated from St. Anthony’s Grammar School and Trenton Catholic Boys High School, class of 1955.

Hired out on the Pennsylvania Railroad on July 25, 1955 and retired from Conrail on September 10, 1999. He worked various positions in Trenton, Fairless (sic), Morrisville, Bristol, PA and Camden, NJ. He also worked on and off at U. S. S. Fairless Works Transportation Center from May of 1958 to August of 1985. Former member of BRAC, RYA, TCU and PRR Holy Name Society, Patrick was an avid fisherman, both locally and the Jersey Shore. He especially enjoyed trout fishing in Vermont and surf fishing at Island Beach State Park.

He was predeceased by his brothers, Brian Cunningham (1946) and Roger J. Cunningham (2009) of Springfield, VA and his sister, Mary Cunningham Pierfy (1982). He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Rosemary Burroughs Cunningham, and brother, Dennis Cunningham of Ft. Myers, FL. He leaves behind three children. Anne and husband Jeff Rees of Churchville, PA, Eileen and husband Scott Marland of Yardley, PA, and Colleen M. Cunningham of Crownsville, MD. He is also survived by four grandchildren, Douglas Patrick and Nicholas David Marland, Brooke Marie and Kelsey Anne Rees along with many nephews and nieces.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Funeral Mass on Thursday, January 15, 2015, 11:00am at St. Mark Church, Bristol Borough. Interment, Resurrection Cemetery. Friends may call Thursday morning 9-10:45am at the Wade Funeral Home, 1002 Radcliffe Street, Bristol Borough.
