Mary McCloskey

Mary M. McCloskey passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Sunday, March 6, 2016 at St. Mary Medical Ctr., Langhorne. She was 80. Born in Burlington, NJ, daughter of the late James T. and Sarah T. Bolger Whelan, she has been a Bristol Borough resident for the past 61 years. She was a devoted member of St. Mark Church, where she enjoyed making baptismal garments for the newly baptized babies and was a member of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas, Court St. Mark, but most especially she loved spending time with her family.

Predeceased by her husband of 49 years, Donald M. McCloskey, Sr.,and her grandson, Michael McCloskey, she is survived by her children, Donald McCloskey, Jr. and his wife, Donna, William McCloskey and his wife, Cynthia, Joseph D. McCloskey and his wife, Theresa, Kathleen Wade and her husband, Michael, Mary Ann McCloskey, Thomas McCloskey and his wife, Barbara, Judith Palush and her husband, James, and James McCloskey She will be sadly missed by her 23 grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by 1 brother, William Whelan and his wife, Evelyn and 2 sisters, Arlene Bishop and her husband, Raymond and Kathleen Bowker, sisters-in-law, Phyllis Whelan, Eleanor DeSante, Patricia Wisnowski and her husband, Bruno and Edith McCloskey, 1 brother-in-law, Joseph Canduci along with many nieces and nephews. She was also predeceased by 1 sister, Alice Sampson, and 3 brothers, John, James, and Joseph Whelan.


Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Funeral Mass on Thursday, March 10, 2016, 10:00am at St. Mark Church. Interment, Laurel Hill Cemetery, Burlington, NJ. Friends may call Wednesday evening 6-9:00pm and Thursday morning 8:30-9:30am at the Wade Funeral Home, 1002 Radcliffe Street, Bristol Borough. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Mark School, 1024 Radcliffe Street, Bristol, Pa 19007.
