Mary R. Hoffman

Mary R. Hoffman passed away peacefully with her daughter by her side on Monday, May 22, 2017 at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Willingboro, NJ. She was 89. Born in Philadelphia, daughter of the late Thomas and Mary (McQuilliam) Dooley, she was a Bristol resident for over 50 years. Mrs. Hoffman was a graduate of Little Flower High School and worked as an executive secretary for Paramount Pictures in Philadelphia. She was a longtime active member of St. Mark Church and the Seasoned Travelers. She enjoyed traveling, shopping, watching mysteries on TV, spending time at her home on Long Beach Island, and making holiday dinners for her family but most especially cherished the time she spent with her daughter, grandchildren and sisters.


Wife of the late Dr. Thomas J. Hoffman, she is survived by her daughter, Christine Cardi and her husband, Anthony, her grandchildren, Christina and Thomas Cardi. She is also survived by 3 sisters, Catherine Scullin (the late Hugh) of Willow Grove, Pa., Joan Kiley (the late Edward) of Willow Grove and Margaret Brolly and her husband, John of West Chester, Pa, 2 sisters-in-law, Theresa Dooley and Carol Dooley, along with many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. She was also predeceased by 4 brothers, James Dooley (the late Patricia), Frank Dooley, Thomas Dooley and Richard Dooley.


Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Funeral Mass on Wednesday, May 31, 2017, 10:00am at St. Mark Church, Bristol Borough. Interment. St. Mark Cemetery. Viewing hours will be Tuesday evening 7-9:00pm and Wednesday morning 8:30-9:30am at the Wade Funeral Home, 1002 Radcliffe Street, Bristol Borough. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Mark School, 1024 Radcliffe Street, Bristol, Pa 19007.
