Martin James Sessa, Sr.
Martin James Sessa, Sr. , dedicated husband, father and grandfather, passed away on Thursday, August 24, 2017 at Aria Health, Bucks County, surrounded by his loving family. He was 72. Marty died of a broken heart and now joins his wife, Mary Louise, who passed away in June of 2016. Born in Bristol, Pa., son of the late Louis and Anna DiPalma Sessa, he has been a Levittown resident for over 50 years. Marty was a graduate of Bristol High School and owner of Marty's Beauty Salon in Fairless Hills for the past 50 years. He volunteered his time for over 35 years coaching his children and many other young people at Levittown American Little League where he was a Baseball and Softball Coach, at St. Michael's CYO, where he coached basketball, softball and football and also coached football at St. Joseph the Worker, Queen of the Universe, Conwell-Egan Catholic and Pennsbury High School. Most importantly, Marty has dedicated his time to help raise his grandchildren and enjoyed watching them all play sports.
Predeceased by his wife and love of his life, Mary Louise McCue Sessa, he is survived by his children, Dawn White, Martin James Sessa, Jr. and his wife, Lori, Donna Sarver and her husband, Chris and Dana McGettigan and her husband, Kevin. Devoted grandfather of Marty, III, Liana, Lakyn, Kaelyn, Michael, Matthew, Tyler, Olivia, Madden, Christopher, Jacob, and Rylee. Also survived by 1 sister, Shirley Motter, special friends, Mary Hvizda, Sue Moore, Chris Derr, the girls that worked for him over the years at Marty's Beauty Salon, his lifelong neighbors on Birch Drive and Felicia Brower, along with several nieces and nephews. He was also predeceased by 1 brother, Louis Sessa, Jr. and his son-in-law, David White. The family would like to thank Marty's family physician, Dr. Leonard Malamud for all his care. Being ever generous, Marty donated his organs to Gift of Life to help others live.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Funeral Service on Monday, August 28, 2017, 10:00am at the Wade Funeral Home, 1002 Radcliffe Street, Bristol Borough. Interment, Bristol Cemetery.
