Kenneth William Parr

Kenneth William Parr, the “oldest living Tullytown native,” as he was proud to point out, passed away at home on September 29, 2016 at age 92. He was born August 27, 1924 to William Parr of Tullytown and Ethel Raub of Bristol PA and was married for 63 years to Inez Mager Parr, who passed away in July of this year.

He was a member of the Fallsington High School class of 1942 along with 20 other boys and 8 girls, and where he played basketball for coach Jim Dockeny. Ken was an Army Air Force Air Transport Command veteran of WWII, serving from 1943 to 1946 with the 1260th AAF ATC in Tunisia. He was honorably discharged with the rank of Sergeant, Air Operations Specialist.


He was called back to service during the Korean war years, serving at the Atlantic Highlands radar station.


In 1954, Ken and Inez moved from Tullytown to the Stonybrook section of Levittown where they resided until this year.


He attended Temple University and played basketball in the Bristol Industrial League.


Ken was employed by Warner Concrete, General Motors at the Linden NJ plant and was for many years the office manager for the Lower Bucks County Joint Municipal Authority.


He was a long-time social member of the Tullytown Fire Company, and a 71 year Charter Member of Falls American Legion Post 834.


Ken is survived by sister-in-law Barbara Lovett of Worton MD, brothers-in-law Fred Mager and his wife Dolly of Cape Coral FL , Richard Mager of Levittown, Daniel Mager and his wife Betty of York PA, and numerous nieces and nephews. Services will be held at Wade Funeral Home, 1002 Radcliffe St. in Bristol from 11:00 am until 12:00 pm on Tuesday October 4th. Interment will follow at the Tullytown Cemetery.
