Obituary

Joe Kash

Joe Kash, of Summit Hill, PA, a hardworking, soft-spoken, family man, who always lightened our hearts with laughter, died with his family by his side Tuesday, November 24, 2015 of complications from cancer treatment. He was 63.

Joseph W. Kash came into this world on January 30, 1952 in Philadelphia, son of the late James and Dorothy (Geist) Kash, where he enjoyed a wonderful childhood. Following graduation from Cardinal Dougherty High School in 1969, Joe Kash graduated from Spring Garden College and became an electrician by trade, and built Joe Kash Electric, Inc. through good old fashioned hard work. After twenty-five years of being the electrician everyone went to for solid work at a fair price, Joe joined the Electrical Union IBEW 743 where he worked during his retirement. But Joe’s true accomplishments were made during the times when he wasn’t wearing his tool belt while being a devoted husband, loving father, and a good friend. Joe shared thirty- three years of marriage to the love of his life, Rosie, his “Rose Bud.” Together with Rosanna, Joe raised three boys, never missing a football game, hockey game, baseball game, or musical performance. From the field or the stage, Joe’s sons would always see him standing in the crowd with the video camera he used to make a lifetime of home movies. An avid hunter and fisherman, he shared his love for the outdoors with his sons, brother Jim, friends, and grandsons. Joe was the kind of man who you could count on, in good times and bad, for a cold beer, a good joke, and a gentle smile.

Joseph W. Kash, is survived by his wife Rosanna G. Kash (DiRenzo), his three sons Joey Kash, Jimmy Kash, and Brendan Kash, daughter-in-law Lara Mammana Kash, and four grandsons Caden, Bryson, Jimmy, and Jack Kash. He is also survived by his brother, Jim Kash and his wife Sandi Kash, and his sister Kathy Ricca and her husband Joe Ricca, as well as a niece and several nephews. He was predeceased by his sister Dorothy (Kash) Esbensen.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Funeral Mass on Monday, November 30, 2015, 11:30am at St. Mark Church, Bristol Borough. Interment, private. Viewing hours will be Sunday evening 7-9:00pm and Monday morning 10:30-11:15am at the Wade Funeral Home, 1002 Radcliffe Street, Bristol Borough. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made, in memory of Joseph Kash to "Men of Marian" , Marian Catholic High School, c/o Susie Gerhart, 166 Marian Avenue, Tamaqua, Pa 18252.
