Janice Linton was called to heaven in her home while surrounded by her daughters on November 14th at the age of 65.
Born in Manhattan, NY, she was the daughter of the late Katherine Lucille DaCosta Linton and Clan Hope Linton. She graduated from Hampton University class of 1974 and continued on to achieve a Masters of Education from Rutgers University. She worked in education across the country in New York, New Jersey, and New Mexico. In 1992 she started working as a first grade teacher for Stockton Elementary School. Her passion for teaching was evident in all she did, and after 22 years at Stockton she retired. She was loved by students, parents and faculty alike.
Throughout her life she loved and served the Lord. She was a member of Bethany Baptist church for many years before finding her final church home with Bethel AME Church. There she continued the work of the Lord as a missionary, choir member and prayer warrior. She participated in the homeless ministry where she touched many lives.
Janice enjoyed dancing, healthy cooking, crafting and kayaking. She will be remembered for being a strong woman of God who sought adventure, spread inspiration, and showed love to everyone she met.
She is survived by her children Michelle and Lisa Khalsa, brother John DaCosta Linton, and niece Dionne Linton Lenaghan.
The memorial service will be held on November 21st, 6 pm at Wade Funeral Home 1002 Radcliffe St. Bristol, PA 19007. Please join us for the calling hour where family will receive friends at the funeral home just prior to service from 5-6 pm.
