James Costigan

James "Shortcut" Costigan passed away after a brief illness on Monday, August 27, 2018  He was 63.  Born and raised in Philadelphia, he lived most of his life in the Lower Bucks area and resided in Morrisville until his death.  Jim was a self-employed contractor and subcontracted for Albertus Energy and Cothery Construction for many years.  He was a 4th degree member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians, Division 1, Bristol and the Masonic Lodge.  Jim loved his Irish heritage, vacationing in Ireland and enjoyed singing Irish ballads as often as possible.  He also enjoyed opera and was a "Whiskey Connoisseur".  Jim was a good friend to many and always went out of his way to lend a helping hand.  Jim loved spending time with his family and friends, camping and fishing on Island Beach State Park.  

Predeceased by his parents, Peter and Genevieve Costigan and his brother, Peter Costigan,  he is survived by his loving wife, Kathleen McDermott, his children, Rochelle Costigan, Jillian Costigan and her husband, Brian Geist, Valerie Costigan and her husband, Michael Skipper and James Costigan and his wife, Joan.  He is also survived by 3 grandchildren, Mira, Zarah and James, 1 brother, William Costigan, many nieces,  nephews and great nieces and great-nephews.  

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Funeral Mass on Thursday,, September 6, 2018, 11:00am at St. Mark Church, Bristol Borough.  Interment, Our Lady of Grace Cemetery.  Friends may call Wednesday evening 6-9:00pm and Thursday morning 9:30-10:30am at the Wade Funeral Home, 1002 Radcliffe Street, Bristol Borough.  In lieu of flowers, donations, in Jim's name, can be made to AOH Hunger Project, 614 Corson Street, Bristol, Pa  19007.  www.wadefh.com
