Frederick James Mitchell, Sr.
Frederick James Mitchell, Sr. passed away on Friday, April 13, 2018 at St. Mary Medical Center. He was 88. Born in Bristol, June 13, 1929, son of the late James and Kate Mitchell, he was a lifelong Bristol resident. Mr. Mitchell was a graduate of Maple Shade Elementary School. He was a U.S. Army Veteran, serving in Korea from 1951-1953. Mr. Mitchell was a longtime employee of the Badenhausen Company, also worked at various nuclear plants in South Jersey and retired from General Motors, Trenton, NJ. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and beagling and was a member of The Central Jersey Beagle Club and a lifetime member of the Langhorne Rod and Gun Club.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Genevieve R. Mitchell on September 7, 2017 and is survived by his sister, Catherine McGonigle, his children, James Marshall (Laurie), Bonnie Kehoe (Gene), Linda Sheetz (Michael), Catherine Hahn (Bill), Frederick Mitchell, Jr. and Michael Mitchell (Sondi). Also survived by 13 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Funeral Service on Wednesday, April 18, 2018, 8:30pm at the Wade Funeral Home, 1002 Radcliffe Street, Bristol Borough, where friends may call from 6:00pm until time of service. Interment with military honors will take place on Thursday, April 19, 2018, 9:00am at Washington Crossing National Cemetery, 830 Highland Road, Newtown, Pa. A funeral procession will form precisely at 8:00am on Thursday, at the funeral home.
