Doris Mae Bechter

Doris Mae Bechter passed away on Tuesday, August 15, 2017 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was 83. Born in Philadelphia, daughter of the late Harold and Ada Cordingly, she has been a Levittown resident for the past 54 years. She was a graduate of Bristol High School, Class of 1951 and was employed in various positions at PNB Bank for over 40 years. Doris was an avid bowler, enjoyed fishing, traveling, and spending time at her home in Virginia.


Wife of the late Frank T. Bechter, she is survived by her children, Sandy Dunstan and her husband, Bob, Theresa Bechter-Weatherholt Scardino, Bud Bechter and his wife, Gail, and David Bechter and his wife, Peggy, 14 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild. Also survived by 3 sisters-in-law, Janice Cordingly, Bernice Wade, and Arlene Goulding (Richard) along with many nieces and nephews. She was also predeceased by her brother, Richard Cordingly.


Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Funeral Mass on Saturday, August 19, 2017, 11:00am at St. Mark Church, Bristol Borough. Interment, St. Mark Cemetery. Friends may call 8:30-10:30am at the Wade Funeral Home, 1002 Radcliffe Street, Bristol Borough. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tenn 38105.
