David F. Craven

David F. Craven passed away on Monday, October 29, 2018 at Chandler Hall Hospice.  He was 68.  Born in Bristol, son of the late Frank J. and Gertrude (nee Hanson) Craven, he was a lifelong Bristol resident.  Dave was a 1968 graduate of Bristol High School.  He was a Captain with the Fire Department at the Naval Air Station Joint Base, Willow Grove, retiring after 30 years of service.  Dave was a life member of 50 years at Bristol Consolidated Fire Company, Station 50, where he served as a Captain for several years.  He was a member of the Ahrens-Fox Restoration Committee, restoring Bristol Borough's 1927 Ahrens-Fox fire truck.   Dave loved genealogy research especially for family and friends and took special interest in researching the Harriman Fire House (currently Apollo Pizza) that served as the firehouse for the Merchant Shipyard.  He also enjoyed collecting any memorabilia connected to Historic Bristol Borough and was doing research on fire articles and photography for the Fire Museum.  

He is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Judy Gross Craven, 3 sons, Anthony Burgos (May Cong-ay Burgos), Jason Burgos (Roxanne Maddox Burgos) and Jeff Craven (fiancée Patricia Scoda) and 3 grandchildren, Vanessa Cong-ay, Alex Burgos and Olivia Burgos.  He is also survived by 2 sisters, Joyce Craven-Smoyer (Howard) and Elaine Craven-Whitworth (Richard), 3 sisters-in-law, Diane Rinaldi, Jacqueline Lewis and Susan Hope, 1 brother-in-law, John Gross along with several nieces and nephews.  

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing on Saturday, November 3, 2018, from 9-11:00am at the Wade Funeral Home, 1002 Radcliffe Street, Bristol Borough.  Interment, Bristol Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, monetary donations or donations of non-perishable food can be made to  Bristol Borough Community Action Group, 99 Wood Street, Bristol, Pa  19007, would be appreciated.
